Update #1 from Terranova: 7/13/2011

Sorry for the delay on the first update since we have been in Zambia. The group's* travels went quite well coming here, but the time change was quite difficult - six hours. We have finally gotten through the two days of travel and the time change under our belts and are getting into the swing of things here. The main house is beautiful and so is the view.

Yesterday we spent the day walking around seeing things including the clinic, village and school. They were so excited to get all of the chemistry supplies that we brought down as well as a few more text books.

Today I believe we will be back down at the school doing vision testing and working on the Internet connection a little more. I hope to get a few hours in the next day or two where I will work with the teachers on the book translations, solar ovens options and designs, and the Internet resources on this blog.

Everyone here is so nice and friendly once they meet us. I am looking forward to the next few days with the kids and teachers and then we head into the bush for an adventure this weekend. More to come soon.
